Tips from Users: 7 Ways to be #1 on the Zamzee Leaderboard

So a little bird told us you want to be the leader of the Zamzee leaderboard. A worthy goal, young whippersnapper. But how do you earn enough Pointz to climb to the top? We’ve asked some of the top Zamzee users to share their tips and tricks about getting to be #1.

Let’s start with advice from JLeeBly. JLeeBly is #2 overall on the lifetime Zamzee leaderboards – impressive.

JLeeBly says that “if someone is really looking to make it to the top, consistency is key. Make activity, and uploading, a daily habit.”

Have you discovered that you get bonus Pointz for uploading your Pointz every day, and every week? That’s what we call a consistency streak. The more days you upload in a row, the more bonus Pointz you’ll receive.

Tip #2: Compete with Friends and Siblings

JLeeBly uses Zamzee with a group of friends, which helps everyone to “push ourselves a little bit further than normal to be #1 for the day, the week, or overall.”

Before you can become #1 on the overall leaderboard, try just moving more than your little sister or best friend. You’ll earn mega bragging rights for being the top mover in your family, and you’ll be racking in the Pointz at the same time. Continue reading

Is Zamzee Safe for My Kids?

Last month the New York Times published new research revealing that many children’s apps fail to disclose their privacy policies to parents. As it turns out, only 20% of the most popular children’s apps accurately disclose their data collection practices. In light of this abysmal record on privacy, we want to take a moment to tell you about how we protect the privacy of the kids who use Zamzee.

First of all, you can always access our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use by clicking on the links at the bottom of each page at zamzee.com. We’ve tried to make them straightforward and easy to understand, even for kids who might be curious. You’ll always be alerted if we make any changes to these terms.

Secondly, it’s nice to put a human face on a company. Zamzee is created by a team of people who care about kids and their well-being. Here’s a picture of us. We have our own kids, nieces or nephews that we think about as we’re developing Zamzee. If you call our office line, you’ll probably get Amy on the phone. That’s her, right in the middle. Over on the far right is Lance, our CEO.

5 Ways Zamzee Gets Your Kids off the Couch

needs_a_Zamzee

Does your son like videogames more than shooting hoops outside? And maybe your daughter would rather chat with friends than practice soccer. Or vice versa. That’s okay. Many kids don’t enjoy participating on competitive sports teams. But research shows that kids who are more physically active enjoy better social, emotional and physical health – whether or not they’re “on the team.”

Here are 5 ways Zamzee makes exercise fun for kids who don’t love sports.

1.  Zamzee lets kids earn rewards for moving. And any movement that gets your heart racing counts – dancing, skate boarding, playing tag with friends –  even if you’re not a star athlete or a jock. On zamzee.com kids get to pick rewards to work towards, like gift cards or popular toys. This incentive makes it easier for kids to overcome the initial hurdle to get their bodies moving. Receiving a package in the mail from Zamzee for accomplishing a movement goal is motivating and fun.
