History of Zed

Zed whooshing and whirring

Zamzee’s mascot is Zed, and we affectionately call him our Chief Movement Officer (or CMO for short). Zed sends you all your Shoutz and notifications on MyZamzee. But sometimes kids want to know – who is this little ball of energy, and what is he really about?

Kids have submitted all sorts of questions about Zed to our help desk. Here are some of our favorites, and Zed’s answers.

Q: Where does Zed live?

A: Zed lives in the clouds, where he can make the most of his passion for whooshing and whirring. But every now and then he zips down and pays the Zamzee team a visit at our office in Redwood City, California.

Q: Does Zed play any sports or something?

A: Zed has lots of hobbies! He loves skateboarding, playing soccer, and dashing around town. He also likes to discover cool new music and tell his friends about it.

Q: Does Zed do anything normally?

A: Where Zed comes from, being a little ball of energy IS normal. So is swinging through the trees in search of a carrot.

Q: Does Zed like flowers?

A: Yes. Chrysanthemums.

Q: What is Zed’s favorite subject, game, art, plant, animal, person, color, car and movie?

A: Zed’s favorite subject is geography, game is capture the flag, art is contemporary, plant is cactus, animal is cheetah, person is Superman, color is orange, car is Fiat, and movie is “The Mighty Ducks.”

Q: How are you a little ball of energy when you’re doing this for everyone at once?

A: The more Zed moves, the more he wants to move more! (Say THAT 10 times fast!) He also charges his turbo jet-pack and seven-league boots each night, so he has extra energy to do flip-flops and loop-de-loops for standing ovations.

Q: Are you a real person or just a robot that types cool and nice stuff?

A. Zed is a real little ball of energy.

Q: What is his age?

A: Zed’s age is infinite. He’s the oldest of the Old, and the youngest of the Young all in one! But to make things easier when filling out school forms, sometimes he just says he’s 12.

Q: What does he do when he’s bored?

A: He plays the ukulele.

Phew! Well, for now, that answers all your questions about Zed. If you have any more, leave ‘em in the comments section and we’ll ping Zed and try to get you some more deets!
